Six years ago at the age of 55 I took a beginner watercolor class at a local art center. Until then, I hadn't had any formal art training; my forté had always been business, not art! I found that I loved painting. I am a testament to the fact that almost anyone having the desire can learn to paint, at any age. Currently, I teach watercolor and collage in Hudson, WI, at the Phipps Center for the Arts, and in my home studio.
I began painting pet portraits when my dear Lexie, a little Cocker Spaniel, left our family. She had been with us for 14 wonderful years. My despair quickly turned to joy as I painted my treasured late companion's portrait. Truly, I enjoy painting pet portraits. I would love to capture your pet's likeness in a watercolor portrait. If you have more than one “companion” you might like to have a group portrait. Along with good memories of Lexie, my husband, Mike, and I now share our lives with Sophie and Tucker, who are both rescue dogs.
